Is it bad to take too much?
I thought I had some candida going on so I took fluconazole (1 pill 1 time stuff) 2 days ago and it seems to be helping but just in case i went to the doctor today and he said he`d never heard of this medicine (I live in Japan ,so a Japanese doctor) and gave me some creams for my infection. Will it hurt me if I take his medicine too? He said it wouldnt but then again he didnt know what fluconazole was so…
lol no
We applied Tri-Otic to her ears, the white creamy stuff them rubbed it into her ears, like the vet told us to. Now her yeast infection is resolved, but as a pomeranian the fur around her ears, neck, and head is all greasy. Sticky, clumpy, and wet looking. How do I get it off without using something too harsh? Anybody have experience with this?
That is really safe on animals?
i found it but it is an extremely durable adhesive. Are you really saying to put this on my dogs face? Seriously?
use goop on the ears and then wash them with shampoo. You can find it in the auto parts section at most stores. Goop not anything else. I am a groomer and this is the safest most effective way to take care of this problem.
does it matter if the yoghurt is strawberry as opposed to natural?
Are the proportions of the ingredients in the mix important? What are they?
Since yeast feeds on sugars, honey is the absolute wrong thing to put in there, and most yougurts have added sugar to them, so no, I would not try the mix.
when i went to my gyno appointment for my first exam ever. while she’s doing the exam, she tells me that it looks like i have a yeast infection, but it’s mild and it doesnt need treatment really. well like a week later, i had sex with my boyfriend, and a couple of days later, i get a really really bad yeast infection. that day, the gyno calls me and tells me that the results show a yeast infection, so i need to get treated for that. She told me i need to come in for a re-pap when the yeast infection goes away…bc the pap came back abnormal.
did it come back abnormal bc of my yeast infection…like is that the most likely cause? or could it be something else? [keep my situation in mind, please]
Yes a yeast infection can cause an abnormal pap and a lot of worry–it happened to a close friend. Just treat the infection and go back for the second pap and don’t worry about it yet
I’m American teaching in Kwangju, South Korea and have contracted a yeast infection from eating yogurt. I’m accustomed to using Monistat 3, but I can’t find that here. What brands of yeast infection medication are available here? No one seems to understand me when I ask. Also, what stores can they be found at?
I think you need to go to a doctor in most cases in Korea to get anything. There are a few international clinics in Kwangju (I live in Kwangju as well). You can call Yale Foreign Clinic at 062-367-1100. The clinic is located at exit 4 of Hwajeong Subway Station. It is right next door to the Kwangju Bank. The other one is Clinic Body and Soul and their number is 062-525-0606 or mobile number 011-670-0349, they are located across from the Bukgu District Office near Chonnam National University. Both should have English speaking doctors.
I did the first day of treatment with the cream in the applicator last night and when I woke up this morning, it burned when the cream came out. This was about half an hour ago and it still burns a tiny bit. This is my first yeast infection. Help? :/
I did the one day applicator and it horribly burned. When I mentioned this to my pharmacy, they said that it seemed it was too much "dosage" for me and I had a reaction to it.
They recommened for me to make an appointment with my doctor for a different prescription. In the mean time, I waited a few days and then tried the 5 day applicator as they couldn’t get me in til the following week (Torture!) Same thing happened.
(Having an infection for 2 weeks was torture!)
So at the doctor’s appointment, they gave me a non-over the counter prescription pill. I forgot exactly what it was called as this was about 4 years ago.
I can only handle the 7 day applicator in low dosage if it isn’t sever now. I am just sensetive.
Could be a possibility you are too.
At the same time, my doctor also explained if I have a yeast infection and I am sexually active, I can actually have it passed back to me from my partner.
So it is wise if your partner is sexually active, to also seek treatment incase you are getting it often after treatment as that is a possibility you are getting it returned back.

Can you recommend some. I know plain active yogurt works, but I dont have any on hand. I also know of vinegar and water, but am unsure of the ratio of water to vinegar and how to apply. Or any other remedies that will work? What causes a yeast infection in babies? We have never had any rashes except this is the second yeast rash. We use cloth, maybe they are getting a build up and need to be wicked? any advice is welcome! Thanks.
Usually its one part vinegar to 9 or 10 parts water. Cider vinegar with "the mother" is best. You can also use lemon juice, same ratio.
You should put 1/3-1/2 cup vinegar in the rinse of your diaper loads (and actually all laundry) it will not only kill yeast but it will reduce soap build up and soften clothes. Sun drying is also highly effective for killing yeast.
Another thing is that you need to treat yeast for at least two weeks after all symptoms are gone or it will just come back.
Probiotics also help bring the body back into balance to prevent yeast overgrowth. They can be applied directly (or use yogurt). But they should also be taken internally. If you are breastfeeding and the baby is under 6 months mom should take them. Otherwise give them directly there are special instant dissolve ones for toddlers which are nice since they don’t require refrigeration. Or you can use adult ones, just crack them open and put the powder right in baby’s mouth (its sweet) or mix with food (It won’t dissolve in liquid really).
I also highly recommend grapefruit seed extract, but you wouldn’t have that on hand. http://www.drjaygordon.com/development/bf/thrush.asp

The yeast on the cloth diapers needs to be killed or the rash will continue to come back. I added a tablespoon or so of bleach to every hot water cycle, then added vinegar to the rinse cycle, and finally ran an extra cold water rinse with nothing in it until the rash was gone.

# Make a mixture of 10 drops of Citricidal Grapefruit Seed Extract to one ounce of water. The use of distilled water to make your solution is very important. The chemicals placed in your local tap water to kill bacteria can reduce the effectiveness of the active ingredients in GSE. Put the solution into a spray bottle or swab with a clean absorbent pad at every diaper change.
# Slather the rash with plain yogurt containing live cultures.
# Clotrimazole anti-fungal cream (available over-the-counter with the creams for vaginal yeast infections) can be added to a diaper rash cream or you can mix your own cream using zinc oxide and lansinoh.
# A cup full of white vinegar can be added to baby’s warm bath to help soothe his sore bum.
# Add a cup full of white vinegar to your rinse cycle when washing diapers.
# Add 4-5 drops of Tea Tree oil to your wipe solution.
# Wash diapers in hot water.
# Dry diapers in the sun.
# Add Grapefruit Seed Extract to your wipe solution or to baby’s bath.
# Add 4-5 drops of Tea Tree oil to the initial rinse or wash cycle – many mothers find TTO has a strong smell and suggest adding it before the final rinse cycle so that most of the smell is washed away.
# Do NOT use cornstarch powders on a yeast rash. The yeast "feeds" on the powder and will make it worse. This includes plain cornstarch and any baby powder brands that include cornstarch.
# Hydrocortisone cream can help reduce the swelling and inflammation and can be applied under the other diaper creams.
I just want to know!
I took 2 test this past weekend and got no response. I just want to know if it is the test or something else!
Im pretty sure it wouldn’t affect the test, Visit your GP just to make sure though as you don’t want to mis-diagnose pregnancy.
I have a yeast infection and yesterday used Monistat 1 day ovule, my symptoms are gone but how long does it take for the medication to leave me? I’ve had medication discarge but when will it be all gone?
It will take as long as it takes for your body to expel it…it differs. To avoid yeast infections try eating a yogurt a day or taking Pro-Biotics daily. Those creams can be expensive and over time they can lose effectiveness and not work at all. If I ever have one I eat a yogurt a day and it’s gone after 3-4 days…works like a charm and can be alot cheaper.
