Spotting after Yeast infection treatment?
30 Nov 2009
I used Monistat 1 the night before last and it burned SO bad all day yesterday. I called my gyno and he called me in a diflucan. I’ve used both of these medications before, but I guess I’ve never had a yeast infection this bad. I did the diflucan last night. I’m not burning anymore, but now I’m itching bad and I have light spotting. Is this normal?
I don’t have any idea about your problem. However, I came across a blog about yeast infection. Hope you find your answer there.

home remedies for a yeast infection?
30 Nov 2009
ladies, i have a yeast infection, and i was wondering if you have any tips, hints, or home remedies that work for you or help you out. i haven’t tried garlic but i’ve heard of it and i have NO gauze pads, would tampons work? please.
You can try eat yogurt, plenty of it, stop eating sugar, and eat garlic, raw one. If you have minor yeast infection it will go away with otc medicines. But, most of the times if your immune system is weak it will come back. The drugs from the otc just treat it locally, but not the cause of yeast infection. Everybody has yeast in our body nowadays, it just depends in which one is develops mostly.Antibiotics are the main cause of yeast overgrow.
how do you get tested for a yeast infection?

how do you get tested for a yeast infection?
It’s something a gynecologist would usually do, but a primary care physician may do this as well. It involves a visual examination of the vagina and cervix using a speculum (the duck bill shaped expander that goes into your vagina and opens it up so that the doctor can see further). Then the doctor will take samples using a large sterile q-tip (He/she may take more than one and do a chlamydia/gonorrhea test as well as a test for yeast). The doctor may prescribe medication for the yeast infection at the exam of they may wait until the test results are back as there are many variations of yeast, most of which cannot be treated by the over-the-counter products.
Edit: The At-home testing kits available at the drug store only test for one kind of yeast. If the over the counter treatments don’t help you within 48 hours you’ll need to see a doctor.
My doctor said i have a bacterial infection. . it isnt necessarily a yeast infection. it is a bacterial vaginosis and she gave me medication for it. I have to insert this cream for a week and the medicatin nor my doctor told me when i can resume having sex?
I would think after you take the medication… and when you dont have the symptoms.. it is fine.
A LOT of times… couples will pass the infection back and forth to eachother…. so meaning… you might be over it but if you are with the same partner you were with before you started taking the medication… you will get it again because he can be a carrier of the bacteria… that is why a lot of couples will treat it at the same time to avoid the back and forth of it.
Does the one day treatment for yeast infection cream work as well as the 3 or seven day?
28 Nov 2009
I know one day is much much much more expensive.
I asked my doctor this question once. She said the 3 or 7 day treatments are better because the one-dose might not be enough. I have used them with success with a mild infection, but they still recommend holding off on sex for a few days. Yeast infections suck, so I’d play it safe, but it’s your decision.
due to pregnancy hormones i have a terrible yeast infection, my doc has already given me Diflucan, but i need something to help the itching and burning ( possibly something we have in our every day house) if i have to go to the drugstore today i will, any suggestions what will work just for the symptoms, please i’m in agony over these damn womens yeast infections.
omg, Yogurt is to be EATEN, not smeared on your vagina! Some people should just be quiet.
Anyways, eat lots of yogurt. DO NOT DOUCHE! It will just make it take longer.
I have a drug test to take tomorrow for a job I’ve been offered and I also currently have a yeast infection. Everybody knows with a yeast infection you can’t use tampons so what do I do still take the test with red urine. That is gonna be so embarrassing is there any way around this? Please Help!
Forgot to mention I’m on my menstrual!! Having a double whammy!
Wash out your vagina with one of those small douche bags. Place some gel on a tampon applicator. Insert. Give your pee sample. Remove tampon and continue on with your yeast treatment. You can wear a tampon for a few minutes.
So, i am right in the middle of my 6-day cream & applicator treatment for a yeast infection and lo & behold my period comes today. i still have 3 more treatments left, but my flow is very heavy. i use tampons. The itching is gone though, and i can’t be sure of the discharge. Since my flow is so heavy & i use tampons, Should i stop using my treatment or just try to finish it despite the circumstances?
You should not be using tampons until the infection is completely cleared up. As for the medication, I would suggest calling your pharmacist and asking, just to be sure.
I have been having periods ok…every 35 days is my cycle.Ever since I started this green tinged discharge 4 months ago , my period cycle has slowly reduced.First period after that came in 33 days , then 30 days and now 28 days thats not happened in my menstrual history till now. Please dont talk about STDs as I am married and have a single partner.Whats up ?!! I am 37 years old.
I have been to a gynae twice , she did two pap smears , both were okay, they saw some very little candida and gave me tabs for that. But the green did not go away…So I am really worried now esp after I got my periods early which has neverr before happened.Could something be wrong ? Has anyone else experienced this ?
No I have not used sponge or spermicide , thanks for asking ,
you might have Vaginitus… it is not necessarily an infection, but it could be… the "flora" in your vaginal area is off balanced… you should change your eating, increase the water in your diet, and before you take any medication pills.. try a good colon cleanser… sounds gross, but compacted waste can mess ya all up. as far as your period slowing down… have you had an annual pap smear… this might sound gross too, but one time my husband and I lost the condom…. where was it you ask… where do you think… yes, yes it was lost inside… we got it but it was way up there…
Also when your husband and you sleep together be careful of any foreign objects dirt and debris… it can all get caught up there and cause infection and blockage…
stay safe…
and get check out just in case…
