I really want to be able to have sex tonight but I think im getting a yeast infection is there anything I can do to stop it from happening?

Or if get it tomorrow is there anything I can do to speed up the recovery or anything I should make sure not to do that might make it worse?

Obviously I wouldnt be asking if I had some yeast infection medication.

Thank you for your help!!

cranberry juice wont help a yeast infection but it will help a urinary tract infection go away.

what you can do for the yeast infection is
run to the drugstore, buy some monistat 1 day. follow the directions in one day you will be fine! promise!
good luck!

I had to get a minor surgery done earlier this week. The doctor prescribed me vicodin, and amoxicillin. Well of course the darn antibiotics gave me a yeast infection. Is it okay for me to take the medicine (vaginally) to get rid of the yeast infection even though I am still taking my other perscriptions?

It should be just fine.

But just be prepared for a recurrence of the infection if you’re not finished using the antibiotics.

You may also want to contact your doctor and ask for a prescription of Diflucan…WAY better than vaginal suppositories; one pill and you’re done.

I don’t have medical insurance, so I can’t see a doctor. Lately, my vagina has been itchy, so I did some research online, and it may be a yeast infection, even though I have not had sex. Is it okay to take the medication even though I am not 100 % sure it is? Also, the itch comes and goes, and it’s been like this for years now. Thank you.

It’s not a good idea to take medication that you don’t need. So you need to be really sure you have it first.

You could have a yeast infection, a bacterial infection or an allergy – any of those you can get even if you don’t have sex.

Different types of infections:

Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching

Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva

I have a friend she’s 15 and her mom won’t get her the medication because she says she is too young is this true.

Never too young for infections, and as yeast infections aren’t necessarily sexually transmitted ( although they can be) sorry but that girls mother is just ignorant. And they don’t go away on their own it’s an INFECTION. See if you and your mom can maybe get your friend the help she needs, by having your mom talk to her mom or you and your mom buying the poor girl some Monistat.

I don’t want to transfer it back and forth if he has already given it to me, so should I take something like monistat in case I do have one but don’t know yet? He is being treated.

My advice – is not to have sex until he gets rid of his yeast infection otherwise you will easily get it yourself.
I also wouldn’t take Monistat to prevent it – that’s not how you prevent it. In fact you would probably encourage it, being an antibiotic, yeast feeds on antibiotics.

To prevent it, you are best to abstain from sex.

If you think you might have the infection already but you’re not too sure – then you need to get to familiar with the first signs of yeast infection and the symptoms. The articles below will shed some light.

Hope this helps.

I don’t want to see a doctor because I don’t want my mom to know, so I researched the symptoms and bought over the counter medication from the drug store. On the back of the package it says to have a doctor verify the yeast infection before using it, but if I just use it without a doctor, will it be that bad?

DO NOT PUT YOGURT IN YOUR VAGINA!!!

THAT WILL IRRITATE IT EVEN MORE!!!

Your mom doesnt need to know you are going to the doctor. Just go.
Look up the symptoms of a yeast infection online. If you dont have a yeast infection and you use over the counter meds, it wont do any harm.

But please please dont stick any non-medical up there.

Because you should not take any over-the-counter medication without first talking with your doctor when you are pregnant. Some of those medications are not safe for the baby and it is always best to consult a doctor before treating something yourself. You may not even have a yeast infection- it may be something totally different. Only a doctor can tell you for sure what you have.

i have no medical and cant afford to go to the docs in less i have to what can i do to help it

It sounds like the yeast is actually forming colonies, and it is getting worse. But here’s something you can try. First, Douch with a MEDICAL douch (one with iodine – you don’t want to use the others at any time!) then use Monostat at bedtime, you can buy it over the counter and the store/generic comparison brands are cheaper and just as good. Don’t buy the one day package, buy the 3 or the 7 day package and use the cream, not the suppositories, you’ll get better results. Use all of this medication, don’t stop just because you feel relief. It may cause some sense of itching/burning at first, but it gets better with treatment. Eat yogurt with the acidopholus culture (at least 4 ounces/day if possible) and avoid milk and bread products for a while. Also, avoid sugary items! Too much sugar can promote yeast to grow! Drink at least 6 -8 glasses of water daily and lessen acidic juices. (yeast infections only grow at a certain ph level!). I use this method, given to me by my gynecologist. and it does work. But, if that doesn’t work, try your local health dpt. Usually they have reduced or free medical care for those who don’t have insurance. It may be more than a yeast infection going for you. Good Luck!

I think I have some of the signs — my discharge is coming out clumpy. How would i naturally cure it? What type of water should I bathe in (warm, cold, hot, lukewarm) and how many times a day should I wash down there?

If you are not experiencing itching, you do not have a yeast infection, but if you are having the itching also use an over the counter cream. You can also try putting a tablespoon of regular plain yogurt in your vagina at night. Bath regular, and don’t wash yourself to much, as this will cause a bacterial infection.

Good luck

When i had yeast infection before i got this from my Doctor. He prescribed it but i can not get a hold of him now and need the name for my new Doctor.

the monistat things don’t work…I need something stronger i think.

It had dark red writing on it…all i can remember.

Any medication?

I think you are talking about diflucan.

That is where my gf had purchased the pills when she had some problems. PharmacyNextDoor does not need any prescription for diflucan.
